Established in 1993 in the Western North Carolina Mountain community of Banner Elk, The Art Cellar Gallery began as the lifelong vision of Pamela McKay. Having grown up in the area, she appreciates and understands the correlation between the beauty of North Carolina's natural environment to the artistic inspiration it gives area artists. Constantly envisioning a gallery of her own, Pamela sought to concentrate on showing the artwork of those who were indigenous to the immediate region.
