During the February 2013 meeting, the Town of Banner Elk passed a new ordinance regulating the removal of trees in Banner Elk. The new ordinance begins May 1, 2013. The area affected is designated on an overlay map. A copy of the map, along with a copy of the ordinance, can be obtained at Town Hall from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. LINK to ordinance.

Amendments include: Section 315.2 add a definition for solar panel(s), change reference to Section 502.3 to clarify requirements for flat roofs.
